 FLOWERS ALWAYS MAKE PEOPLE BETTER

PicMonkey Flowers Collage

My husband Michael took these photos.

“Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.” – Luther Burbank

As summer slips into the beginnings of fall here in Chautauqua, New York, I find myself saying goodbye to the beautiful flowers that have given me and so many others great pleasure these past months.

I will miss their colorful presence over the winter, but I will appreciate them all the more when they appear again next spring.

I never want to forget that we are always surrounded by beauty, and our task is to bring more of it into the world.

How does your garden grow? Silver bells and cockle shells? Appreciate it now while you can. Soon we’ll have autumn leaves to ogle instead.

Gorgeous pictures. Thanks Emilie. Although August and September are my favorite months, hopefully my eye’s camera will store enough negatives for the fall and winter seasons. From my windows: Black-eyed Susans; Endless Summer and Oakleaf Hydrangea; Sedum; pink, lilac and white Rose of Sharon; Mexican Heather; Johnny Jump-ups; red Geraniums; Abelia and Trailing Fuschia.

I always miss everything about summer.
I call Kentucky the 50 shades of grey state, as it is grey all winter.
P.S. I LOVE your little free library!

Wow, I don’t think that’s going to show up on any license plates. 🙂

Is that your “Little Free Library”? Love the idea of them and hope to be able to be in a place where I could have one. Meanwhile, donations to my public libraries works. ; )

The library’s right down the street and it’s so cute. Love the flowers on top of it. People are so wonderfully creative.
