Sunday Inspiration: Touched by an angel

Touched by an angel

A friend recently asked me if I actually believed there were women like the Goddesses Anonymous in my novels. I promised her that yes, I had seen them myself and believed that women frequently reach out to help each other and do it from love and nothing more.

Nothing has affirmed that belief more than this moving story of a nurse who is helping a dying woman, a stranger, with the most important request of her life. I saw this spot on CBS Evening News last weekend, and I hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it here. You will be so glad you did.

There are angels walking among us. Goddesses. And most of the time they are anonymous. They don’t reach out because they want recognition or stars in their crown. They do it because a need exists and they can help.

I am thankful for each and every one of them.

(Please forgive the 30 second campaign commercial before the story. Run to the kitchen for a glass of water or tie your shoes while it’s on. Sadly there is no way to remove it and this is the only way I could bring the story to you. For the record, I hate political commercials no matter who’s the candidate.)

That’s a huge bonus over what I got, an ad against the political candidate I plan to vote for. And yes, isn’t it an amazing story?

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story. It inspires me to be aware of the needs of people around me. I can’t change the world, but I can make a difference in one persons life!
