Sunday Inspiration: Happy B’Day Dr. Seuss

From Linda Jordan at FlickrI hope you didn’t miss the birthday last week of one of my — and my children’s — favorite all-time writers, Dr. Seuss.

What joy and wisdom he has brought into the lives of so many young people, as well as adults.

I believe I’ve read every one of his books many times over to our children, and now they are reading his books to their children.

Dr. Seuss’ messages are multi-faceted: self-empowerment, respect for others and our earth, a celebration of our similarities and differences, the quirkiness of being human, and most of all the necessity of laughter and joy in our lives.

It’s hard to imagine what our lives and our world would be without the amazing Dr. Seuss.

May his characters and stories be endless.

Oh the Places You Will Go is such a great book for graduations or as young adults head out into the world. I had saved all of our Dr Seuss books from our kids and read them to the grandkids. Finally had to part with them when we made this last move, but I hope after they went to a used book store, they were picked up and loved once more.
