Sunday Inspiration: The Forest Man

The Forest Man

Are you frustrated and depressed with all the terrible news and suffering in the world?

Are you ready for hope and inspiration?

I certainly am. I’m desperate for good news about kindness and generosity — which I try to share with you as often here as possible. Recently I found this story about the Forest Man which made me feel real hope for our future. I guarantee that if you watch this short video you’ll be inspired as well.

The story is about a man in India who decided he would grow a forest all by himself. The island ironically was in the middle of a river that had been turned into a virtual dessert by erosion and climate change. He planted one tree at a time over years until the forest was the size of Central Park. The result: a Garden of Eden where more than a hundred elephants roam and many other animals live.

If one person with such limited resources can make that kind of change, what can each one of us do? All Forest Man had was a vision and the desire to bring his vision to life. What’s your vision? What’s your desire?

I’m thinking about mine.

Excellent story, Emilie. Thank you for sharing. I wish this and, more like it, were shown on the news instead of the violence and negativity. This was a great way to begin my Sunday. Again, thank you for sharing.

Thank You Emilie …..it is an example that small gestures can make a difference. We can all strive to do something positive despite all the negativity and chaos around us.

This is a wonderful story. Everyone who chooses can make a positive mark in this world. It starts with being kind and trying to leave each day a little better to those around you. I think you try to do that Emilie and feel that the people who read and share your messages do also.
