It is so! And, I dare say “thank you” is one of the first phrases we repeat over and over to our children until they make the connection. My husband and I say it to our our pets. Unfortunately, the dog cannot verbally repeat the words but he will release a toy from his mouth if we say thank you. Our 21 year old cockatiel can say “thank you” and does so without a prompt when we give him a treat. Thank you Emilie.
