Sunday Inspiration: The Power of Love

the power of loveDid you see the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? Beautiful, wasn’t it? And different from the usual royal weddings.

As a minister’s wife, I liked the passionate sermon by Bishop Michael Curry. His quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was especially inspiring:

We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love. And when we do that, we will make of this old world a new world. Love is the only way.’”

Bishop Curry went on to say:

For love, it is strong as death. But love is not only about a young couple. Now the power of love is demonstrated by the fact that we are all here . Two young people fell in love, and we all showed up. But it’s not just for and about a young couple who we rejoice with. It’s more than that.”

Appropriate words for such a glorious event, but also to give us hope after the violence of more school shootings.

Do you cry at weddings? I’m so glad that we human beings decided from earliest times to celebrate the most important transitions of  our lives with ceremony, friends and family. A little sentiment is a fine thing indeed.

Every aspect of this wedding was wonderful. Harry and Megan are very much in love and even though they changed a couple of traditional Royal wedding protocols, like being married on a Saturday , they did want they wanted with of course The Queens permission. I wish them only the best.

What grace and elegance the couple expressed. What an important union in history. It reminds me of the importance of love within the family….I have a special summer that may be filled with love and I could use some support LCecka.pixels.com proceeds go to the love of family. Love indeed is a way

It is the third royal wedding that I watched. I would say that this is my favorite because of the way that they made it personal for them, such as Bishop Curry and the gospel choir. Love is so important in our lives. I remember my wedding, very small and intimate. We still love each other very much — will be 60 years in Sept.

Emilie, We love what you wrote and we loved that minister’s speech also. What he said was so true and cuts across all religions, all walks of life, etc. If there were more love and more tolerance in this world what a better world it would be. That couple is going to change our world for the better..
