Brainstorming Week
Since Sunday my brainstorming partners have been in residence at our cottage on Chautauqua Lake working on a variety of books. I always love this annual retreat because so many knots are untied and ideas are embroidered.
Tonight, though, I shake my head at how little I’ve accomplished so far, other than discarding what seemed like good ideas. No matter what, though, we are always reminded that the feedback we can provide for each other will be valuable all year. Even if we just save each other from bumping up against dead ends on our own.
So it will be a good week, no matter what. And I am always grateful to talk shop with such talented, insightful writers. Next week I hope to have a recap for you.
One thing we all marvel over? How exhausting this process is. With that in mind I’ll say goodnight so that tomorrow morning I’ll be ready to start all over again.

Enjoyed “When We Were Sisters” but hope to connect with the characters in the Goddess” series sometime soon!!!! I miss them.

Hopefully Aggie will come up with a new plot. Plus Lucy. There has to be something church related – say a building campaign [and funds are embezzled] – that sure shook up OUR church, lots of opinions on that one. Or starting a pre-school [a slightly known helper has other issues??] or one of the church members did taxes for many of membership – and absconded with the funds — that also happened at our church.
Brain storming!!
Lots of fun ideas there. It’s always the time that’s hard to schedule, but I do have a good idea I’d love to do, so we’ll see.

What fun! And even if you don’t get a whole and complete idea, some of those comments will pop into your mind later, leading to whole and complete ideas that have nothing to do with the original comment. And the process of elimination is also very valuable. I love how our brains work. I especially love how your brain works and gives us your wonderful books. Love you, Emilie!
