Sunday Inspiration: “Be Kind…”
This is a favorite quote of mine — and it’s not from Oprah or Dr. Phil but from the philosopher Plato. Who knew, right? When I hear this it reminds me to see the humanity of those around me.
All of us are struggling with pain, with loss, with disappointment and guilt, and just to be the people we want to be.
When I get upset with someone over something not very important, I need to be reminded to give them a break and remember that we’re all very much the same when it comes down to it.
Sometimes, of course, that’s tough. Is this a challenge for you, too?
I have bookmarked this post to come back to remind me. I struggle sometimes with this, and often find myself being self righteous! It reminds me of another quote “If you have the choice of being right or being kind – be kind.” Thanks for the food for thought.
It should be easier than it is, shouldn’t it? I first noticed this quote on an editor’s email signature and I am always glad to see it again for the reminder.
It brings things in to perspective.. Being kind cost so little to those who need it the most. It’s something I try to be on a daily bases, but sometimes life makes it hard to be kind.
A great quote that may have started as Christmas advice by a Scottish minister, and was later attributed to Plato.

Thanks, Roger. It does sound more like advice from a Scottish minister than words from Plato. I appreciate the correction.
