Sunday Inspiration: The Dream of My Life

the dream of my lifeProman and I have a special interest in India since our daughter was born there.

In his ministry, Proman has also traveled to India and worked with groups who organize the poorest of the poor to struggle for their civil rights and economic justice.

One of those organizers is an amazing man by the name of Vivek Pandit who built a school for Tribal girls that we help sponsor. Vivek is a deeply spiritual person, and he wrote this prayer that is inspirational for me and I hope for you as well.

This is the dream of my life

May it come true

May the children of human beings

Live with human dignity

May no one sell their bodies

To quell the pangs of hunger,

And may my inner urge ever be

To destroy oppression

May the flowers yet to bloom

Not be trampled underfoot

May every breath I take

Help new flowers to bloom

May I never be weak, vulnerable

And powerless

May I find within myself

The strength to contain storms

The night that has just passed

Was the long & darkest

Let the emerging rays

Live forever in the huts of the poor

May those who have no food

And no dignity, be my inspiration

May every step I take today

Be in the service of that God

This is my prayer

May it come true

May the children of human beings

Live with human dignity

Namaste, friends. (I bow to the divine within you.)

Thanks for the beauty I see as I read your Sunday Inspiration. Beautiful child, beautiful smile, beautiful prayer. May you and yours be blessed and may those in such peril this day feel the love from all of us who watch with such a feeling of helplessness. I love quotes and the child’s smile prompted: ‘Tis easy enough to be pleasant, when life flows along like a song: But the man worth while is the one who will smile when everything goes dead wrong.
