Sunday Inspiration: Mother Teresa
The words below are especially important to me since they were found written on the wall in Mother Teresa’s Home for Children, and our daughter Jessie was one of the children in that home when we adopted her exactly forty years ago.
These words also make heartfelt resolutions for the coming year.
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are unselfish, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, people could destroy overnight.
Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.
Thanks for the Mother Teresa quote— I’d forgotten that one. Happy and healthy 2019. See you by the lake!! Xxxiris
I love this and hope you don’t mind if I copy it!
Thank you for the beautiful Sunday Inspiration.
These are truly words to live by!
Thank you for sharing this quote — so beautiful. How fortunate Jessie has been to be your daughter all these years — and for you all to have found her to be the daughter of your hearts. May you have a new year full of happiness, love, peace, and good health.
