Sunday Inspiration: Practice the Pause

practice the pausePause before judging.

Pause before assuming.

Pause before accusing.

Pause whenever you’re about to react harshly and you’ll avoid doing and saying things you’ll later regret.

Boy …Oh Brother, did I need this reminder….
I must have wanted to say ugly things about 500 times this week!
Or was that just this past Friday?
So many times, have I bitten my tongue that it has perforation marks….
And perhaps it may just fall off.
This sabbatical from people I enjoy has me getting more snarky and more ready for….well perhaps I should take up boxing in my garage? That might help. Put a face on the bag and swing?
Wise words Emilie. Maybe I should tattoo them on my hand. To remember.
Take a deep breath…….. In…..Out….repeat.and repeat again, and yet again.

I hear you. And it’s so easy to be snarky with social media right there waiting for us to comment. We get the Celtic Christian Tradition posts on Facebook, and my husband and I both find them inspiring and helpful. This one really hit home.

This is food for thought for everyone. We all have those moments when we feel like firing back, but we should take another moment to pause for sure.
